HSRC Trip to Landgraaf BASS Races.
28th to 30th May 2017 BOOKING LINKS WITHIN THIS EMAIL.. Availability will be limited Book now to avoid disappointment
The Landgraaf BASS Club National Races are here again and we are organising a trip for club members to travel, stay full board, and train with the club for these events over the late May bank holiday. All HSRC members are invited to take part in these fun packed 3 days of Ski Racing & training with the club. Snowworld, Landgraaf – the largest and only FIS approved slope in the world…!!!
HSRC have always had a strong attendance at these events, with no less than 110 of our members joining at Snowworld last year. The trip is open to both full and associate HSRC members with accompanying parents and is a highlight in the calendar that really brings the club together. The races are an opportunity for experienced racers to secure BASS points, or for our new racers and minis to take the next step and race on this 520m indoor slope. The trip will include return coach travel from the Snow Centre Hemel, to Snowworld Landgraaf, full board accommodation at preferential rates in the 4* Snowworld Hotel which is attached to the slope, lift passes for the 6 person chairlift, and training and race support from HSRC. Coaches are now confirmed as Sally Bartlett, Matt Thompson, Jake Richardson, and Dan Poth. There is a significant cost to the club in hiring the coach transport for this trip and a decision was made at the recent committee meeting for the costs to be fixed at £299 for a racer and £239 for a non-racer (parent) irrespective of whether or not a family preferred to make their own transport arrangements. A number of families who joined the trip last year have already re-booked via the priority option and spaces will be limited. Please book at your earliest convenience to avoid disappointment. Each racer will be required to make an individual booking using THE RACER LINK https://form.jotformeu.com/70222989802359 and each Racer place will be secured with a £150 deposit being 50% of the cost of the Racer price. Each Non-Racer will be required to make an individual booking using THE NON-RACER LINK https://form.jotformeu.com/70224282066349 and each Non-Racer place will be secured with a £120 deposit being 50% of the Non-Racer price. Do please get in touch if you have any questions, my email address (for the trip) is [email protected], or otherwise do raise any questions you might have with any of the committee members at Monday training sessions.
Landgraaf Q&A’s
Since sending out the invitation to our trip to the Landgraaf BASS races this afternoon, a further 13 familes have booked places on the trip, some of whom have raised some questions. I will respond to those queries individually, however I thought I should cover the points raised with all members in the meantime.. Dates and Times I apologise for the error in the earlier message, the trip runs from 27th to 29th May inclusive. We have booked a Eurotunnel crossing at 7.36am on the morning of Saturday 27th May which will require the coach to be loaded at The Snowcentre at approximately 4.30am on Saturday morning(final loading time to be confirmed by coach company. The return coach will leave Snowworld following prize giving in the afternoon of Monday 29th January and will arrive back at The Snowcentre late on Monday evening. Accommodation The basis of the price is on the Snowworld ‘Team Rate’, all rooms have two beds and a double sofa bed, and bed spaces will be allocated sensibly. For example, a family of 2-4 will be allocated their own room, adult racers (of the same sex) may be required to share 2-3 per room depending how masters book. The club’s ambition is to accommodate as many members as possible and the number of available rooms is limited, and hence final allocation cannot be determined until bookings have been closed. Unaccompanied Minors The committee has taken a decision that unaccompanied minors will not be accommodated on this year’s trip. Of course many of you have friendships with other club members and there is no objection to a child travelling with another family, provided that the agreement is formalised between respective families and recorded with the club’s child welfare officers. Any bookings for minors that cannot be matched against a parent’s booking are not confirmed bookings until the parent has also booked. I suspect there may be some more questions over the coming days, however I thought prudent to answer these ones as they are quite relevant to everybody.
