At training last night the children had a real treat, not often you get the chance to hold an Olympic Medal, Clare could not have put it better as she says below. Caroline took the U14/12 group, being trained by a quadruple medalling Olympian.
“Visually-impaired skier Jade Etherington and guide Caroline Powell became the most successful British women in Winter Paralympic history after winning four medals in Sochi.”
We were all very excited when Caroline brought her medals to Hemel Ski Race Club tonight in what can only be described as the best “show and tell” ever. Whilst this is certainly the closest I will ever get to an Olympic medal (unless they start awarding them for shopping and chatting), I’m hoping that some of my little protégés will be inspired by Jade and Caroline and go on to be future Olympic champions.
